Everyone likes to have a sun-kissed glow, but after your suntan fades unwanted freckles may remain. Dark spots are caused by an excess of the pigment melanin and often appear after prolonged UV exposure. Now we can easily correct many types of hyperpigmentation including dark spots, sun spots, rosacea and birthmarks with non-invasive laser treatments.
Lumecca is a breakthrough intense pulsed light (IPL) device that delivers up to 3X more energy in the 500-600 nm range to improve efficacy for vascular and pigmented lesions. After just one use, clients notice significant improvements in the complexion and clarity of the skin. Lumecca operates using photothermolysis, which provides a photo facial through the delivery of comfortable light treatment. Lumecca can be used to treat age spots (red/brown pigmentations), vascular lesions such as facial telangiectasias (spider veins), and poikiloderma, rosacea (redness), freckles, and sun damage.
Three treatments recommended every 3-4 weeks with maintenance and proper sunscreen to prevent further sun damage.
What to Expect During Treatment
After this laser skin treatment, you will start noticing clearer skin in one to three weeks. Most patients do not find laser removal of pigmented lesions painful, and usually do not require anesthesia. Patients often compare the laser pulse to the snap of a thin rubber band and can generally resume their normal activities following in-office treatments without experiencing any major side effects. Some redness and minor swelling is common, but will resolve rapidly.
